The Sherwood School District will begin using text message alerts,
through School Messenger, during the month of February. This will allow
the District to notify parents/guardians of absences, as well as provide timely
alerts during emergency situations. The system will be configured to send
text messages only to parents/guardians who have agreed to receive them.
On Monday, February 4th, parents/guardians will have the opportunity to opt-in
to receive these text messages. On that date, you should receive the following
text from 67587 requesting you to opt-in to continue receiving important
District informational text messages:
“Sherwood SD alerts. Reply Y 2 confirm, HELP 4 info. Msg&data rates may apply. Msg freq varies. schoolmessenger.com/txt”
Message and data rates may apply. Standard text message charges may apply from
your wireless provider, depending on your text message plan. If you have an
unlimited text messaging plan, then there would be no additional charge.
This new text messaging system will not replace FlashAlert (www.flashalert.net). If you do not receive
an opt-in text on February 4th and would like to use this feature,
please contact the school office to update your contact information.
